Everyone knows Denver right? No, not Denver, Colorado… We’re talking about Denver, North Carolina, the ‘hidden gem’ neighborhood of Lake Norman. The town of Denver is located on the southwest side of Lake Norman just 20 minutes northwest of uptown Charlotte. Before the 2006 real estate crash, Denver was thought by many to be the next big area of development along the lake’s beautiful shoreline. The towns of Cornelius and Mooresville had gotten all the glory and had been well developed due to their location along interstate 77. The real estate market has since made a come back and is gaining momentum, which the town of Denver has begun to benefit from with new luxury communities popping up quickly.
With the shoreline area already well developed, the inland areas are getting much attention. A new, large mixed use development named “Rivercross” is currently being developed by the Simonini Group, and sits right in the central area of Denver at the site of the old Denver Days Festival. Much needed retail, restaurants and office space are being built with this project. A few years back a large industrial park was approved for the area just behind this new project and it is well on its way to completion. Shea Homes, the largest privately owned home builder in the United States, has recognized Denver as a great build site for a new Active Adult Community named Trilogy, which in wake of its completion, now has 350+ acres and 1,600+ homes. Current residents of Denver enjoy low Lincoln County taxes, great schools and a relaxed lifestyle. Although many projects are still being developed in the area, there are plenty of long-standing communities ready for move-in. Denver offers a variety of lifestyle options; golf-course communities, waterfront homes, luxury inland communities and new construction communities currently underway, so no matter what it is you’re looking for, there’s a great chance you’ll find it in Denver.
With so many projects in Denver being completed within the last few years, it has gained some popularity within the Lake Norman community, but is still overlooked by many looking to relocate, simply due to lack of knowledge about the area. Now is a great time to find your perfect home in Denver, while there is constant availability and plenty of home sites to build on. Be sure to check out Killian Crossing, Verdict Ridge Golf Community, Sailview, Governors Island, Norman Estates and Willow Farms – all great neighborhoods within the town.
